Location Guide
South Walnut Creek
This location is in South Walnut Creek/Tice Valley area. It’s beautiful at sunset and the sun moves around based on the time of year. It’s a short but steep walk up a paved then gravel path.
Hap Magee Park, Alamo
An easy to get to location right off the freeway! Pretty fall colors, green grass, and a bridge.
Heather Farm Park, Walnut Creek
A great location, easy to get to and feels like you are in the middle of nowhere! During the fall it’s best to shoot here during the week, as it can get crowded with other photographers. It’s a large area though, and there are plenty of places to walk around. I also like to go by the lake sometimes, as you can get a pretty view of Mt. Diablo after sunset!
Oakland Redwoods
Beautiful location in Oakland near the Chabot Center. Start time is approximately 2 hours before sunset. Can get VERY crowded on fall weekends, would suggest a weekday shoot in the fall.
Adobe Alviso Park, Pleasanton
Really unique stucco building in Pleasanton close to the freeway. Pretty oak tree too! And even some succulents around. The white bridge is pretty too!
Lafayette Reservoir
There are tons of spots around the reservoir to use, one of my favorites is the fence at the front and the docks on the right hand side. Parking is $7 at the kiosk.
Legion of Honor, San Francisco
Golden Gate Bridge (Sausalito Side)
Mount Diablo State Park
One of my favorite locations, Mount Diablo is gorgeous at sunset. I am required to have a yearly permit to photograph at this location. There is an entrance fee of $10 at the gate.
Del Valle Regional Park, Livermore
This location is GORGEOUS! Such pretty views from every angle, and this tree is beautiful. The only downside is that it’s about 45 minutes from Walnut Creek, so there is a travel fee of $150.
Wildflowers in Walnut Creek
This is a very popular spring location! Full of wildflowers and changing all the time. Best months are March, April, and May.
Ruth Bancroft Garden
CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS - WILL UPDATE ASAP!
Ruth Bancroft Garden is a incredibly unique location. The succulent gardens are one of a kind, and there are many paths to choose from, including one with a pretty pond. This a great location after the rain as it drains really well, so it’s never muddy. Lots of the plants bloom in December, January and February!
Extra Fee: $125
Requests made less than 2 weeks in advance are subject to a $50 rush fee.
Borges Ranch, Walnut Creek
Borges is a beautiful old ranch in Walnut Creek, close to the base of Mt. Diablo. The ranch still has chickens, goats and sometimes pigs. We will use the barns and fences as backdrops. There is also a short hike to a viewpoint at the top of the hill. This location is great in the morning and in the evening, about 1.5-2 hours before sunset.
Martinez Marina - Waterfront Park
This is a short walk to a pretty bridge in Martinez by the water. There is also a pond nearby and some areas for a more urban feel downtown Martinez (fun for senior sessions too!). In addition there, is an old train that can be fun to use. This session was done in the morning, and it’s equally as beautiful in the evening. Can get crowded in the fall during the evening.
Lands End and Sutro Baths, San Francisco
