Photo by Sarah Dowell Photography

I've been a photographer for over 20 years. Since starting our family 16 years ago, I've been photographing families, children, babies, maternity, and weddings. After working with Nicole Paulson and Jen Frase at Nicole Paulson Photography in San Francisco for 6 years, I ventured out on my own to start Twig & Oak Photography in August 2018. My passion is photographing families and children, but I'm also available to photograph seniors, events and small weddings (under 40 guests).

My heart is the happiest when I’m creating timeless photographs for your family. Sometimes, when I’m editing photos from your session, I’ve been known to shed a tear or two when I see the sweet moments that were captured within your family. I honestly cannot imagine doing any other job (I’ve had experience with quite a few others!). I LOVE hanging out with your kids. I have two of my own, ages 14 and 16. But those ones are hard, because I have to RAISE them. With your kids, I can just have fun, and that’s one of the more rewarding parts of what I do. You can expect to keep moving while I guide you and your family into natural poses and make a fool out of myself. Your kids will get to play while I capture your natural smiles.

You will receive a mix of posed and candid images in your final edited gallery. I have a variety beautiful locations you will choose from, which I will send to you after your deposit has been received.

I am always in touch with you, always on time, and strive to exceed your expectations! I hope to work with you and your family soon.

* MORE ABOUT ME *

My husband and I live in Walnut Creek, California with our two kids Ellie (16) and Ryan (14). We are both Bay Area natives, and I feel so incredibly lucky to live in an area with so many different landscapes and scenery. My hobbies and interests include photography (of course!), camping, hiking, swimming (I was a swimmer and water polo player at CSU Chico where I received a BA in Business), anything outdoors, yoga, and the gym! My happiest memories include sunsets among the open space and lots of oak trees!

Amy :-)
